Rock the Block Season 2 Episode 5

In the first episode, the teams started to work on their exterior facades. The Judges

This week’s challenge is critical. Curb appeal is as important as the inside of the house, sometimes even more so because it’s the buyer’s first impression. Later on, another dynamic duo, the hosts of the new series Inside Out, Carmine Sabatella, and Mike Pyle are going to be the judges. Their main focus will be curb appeal, the home’s exterior as well as landscaping. They both will determine which team, they feel, added the most value to their exterior spaces in Rock the Block Season 2 Episode 5.

David and Tiffany Chocolate Porch

The total budget for David and Tiffany’s exterior is 50,000$. They went 35,000$ on the exterior, 15,000$ on landscaping, and 2000$ on the backyard.

So no other team had gone dark on the front porch. The chocolate porch, Tudor exterior, the landscaping, and the edible garden it was making their house pop. Everything they choose, the Salvia, the Camellia, the Cypress, it felt working. It created a scent of a renaissance. Moving on to the back, they did a nice outdoor dining deck, which is practical because it’s right off the kitchen. The view of the lake adds a huge bonus. The only con they had was the lack of a backyard.

Mike and Alison Golf Turf

The budget for Mike and Alison’s exterior is 58,000$ in Rock the Block Season 2 Episode 5. They used 28,000$ on the house exterior, 4000$ for landscaping, and 26,000$ for the backyard.

The judges complimented both Mike and Alison on their rock installation of the house. The rock exterior stood up, one of the judges remarked. Stone walkaway, boxwood hedges, magnolias were noticed and appreciated. Although, the scarce plants were one of the cons to Mike and Carmine. Moving on to the backside, they loved how they extended the space and the built-in kitchenette. One of them did appreciate the turf for golf but the other found it not his personal cup of tea.

Brain and Mika Party Pergola

The subtle and neutral color of the exterior complements the overall look. The board and batten juxtapose next to the horizontal siding, the black bark, and the boulders were the pros. The plant placement could have been better because it looks good today but will have a maintenance issue later on. Brain and Mika were very excited for Pergola used the backside in Rock the Block Season 2 Episode 5. As thrilled as Brain and Mika were about the Pergola, the judges thought it otherwise and were not sure about its appraisal. The exterior stairs, the firepit, and the outdoor kitchen were definitely functional and fun for every family.

Nate and Jeremiah Brickwork

The budget for the exterior of Nate and Jeremiah’s home is 65,000$. They allocated 40,000$ on the brickwork, 19,000$ on the landscaping, 3000$ on the backyard, and 3200$ on four mature trees.

Rock the Block Season 2 Episode 5 Nate and Jeremiah

The first thing you notice the moment you see Nate and Jeremiah’s home is the brickwork. It goes on all four sides of the house so there is value. Treatment over the windows, curb appeal, layered landscaping was hard to miss by the judges. The lower terrace was kind of genius because from the appraisal standpoint that is a complete value. Moving on to the front porch, the marble flooring, screened-in porch, and the little brick details won the hearts of Carmine and Mike. The upper terrace does give a European feel to the home.
