When I first saw the space, it was being used as a guest bedroom. The young couple living here had a hard time outfitting the space because of the sloped ceilings, and the odd nooks. I was brought on board to turn this awkward space into a nursery because a young couple is expecting. But the couple still wanted this room to serve as a guest bedroom until the baby arrives.
Table, Dresser, & A Crib
I began with the three baby boy nursery ideas that were essentials, a change table, a dresser and of course a crib. I fell in love with this crib from stalky. Loved that the clean lines can be either modern or traditional interior design. This awning that is so whimsical and sweet. Just turns it into a little house. I love this new furniture line from stalky. It adjusts to different sleeping positions depending on the age of your child. What’s also great about this collection is, it has a lot of pieces that work together.
Baby Boy Nursery Decorating Ideas
Just like this bassinet which is perfect or if the baby is going to sleep in another room or you can take the bed part out of it and place it in the crib. If the baby’s still too small to sleep in the crib. When you’re investing in a crib you wanted to have some longevity and this crib definitely does. This piece easily transforms into a very cool toddler’s bed.
Vintage Dresser
To save some space, we combined the dresser and change table and won. This vintage dresser was passed down to them and we just placed a changing pad right on top. This small window nook was the perfect space for this dual purpose sleeper sofa. I love that this couch can serve as a place for the parents to relax while the baby is napping. Of course, until the baby comes the couple can still host overnight guests.
Cheerful Yellow
I had a lot of fun thinking about baby boy nursery ideas and picking a color. This cheerful yellow which I knew would work with this room. What’s great about the sofa is it’s sleek, it’s super comfy, and it’s not a throwaway couch. So this investment piece will last them for years to come. We definitely wanted some open shelving for toys and books and these tiny bookcases were perfect. What great is that the couple can take these with them when they move into a bigger home.
Brick Accent Wall
For safety and for an extra surface we had this custom rad cover built. There’s one more piece that’s essential in the nursery and that is a rocker. What I love about this one is that it’s sleek enough that it can go in the living room later. I want to add a lot of color and pattern to this room but I did not want to have to paint the walls because it’s a rental. Also, we have this great brick accent wall hangings in the back which look fantastic.
Baby Boy Nursery Ideas Modern
The easiest way to bring in color for us was with all the soft furnishings and the rugs. We layered a lot of rugs to hide the awful gray carpet and each and every one of these isn’t too babyish. So they could definitely live in another room.
